Cardboard furniture | Construction and Fabrication
Mentor : Pravinsinh Solanki

The swahili word 'Heshima' means dignity. This series of furniture is created to do just that. Education has been made a basic right across the planet, but it is time we as designers do our part to ensure that the learning environments across the planet is dignified enough for the students using them.
Made from cardboard L sections, a material that can be easily sourced across the planet, each piece in this series is designed to be flat packed to reach even the most remote locations.
Designed for vulnerable or displaced communities these pieces are meant to be a temporary respite to improve the current learning environment. It is designed such that the processes and tools required for making these pieces are simple to understand and replicate without having the need of any specialized training or skill.
